The Secret to Chiropractic's Success
Since 1895, the chiropractic profession has grown and has provided safe, alternative health care solutions for millions of people. Many attribute the success of chiropractic to the use of manipulation or adjustments to correct the interference between the brain and the body so the body can be brought back into balance. This process does contribute to the "miracles" that we as a profession see in our offices but there is something even greater. One of the most influential attributes of the chiropractic profession is the relationship the doctor of chiropractic has with his or her patients. It is my belief that for over 100 years the profession has been meeting the needs of a population on a mental, emotional and even spiritual level and not just a physical level. Last year one of my patients after a visit proclaimed to me, "Do you know why I like coming here so much?" I inquired, "Why?" She said, "Because you do what my regular doctors doesn't do." She then listed the reasons: 1. You listen to me, you hear me and you get to know me as a person. 2. You respect my time. You keep on schedule and I rarely have to wait if at all. If there is a delay you or your staff tell me and apologize. I can get an appointment usually immediately or even when I just show up you accommodate me. 3. I feel welcome and you give me the feeling you are happy to see me. 4. Your office is upbeat and alive and the staff does everything they can to assist me. They find solutions and don't give excuses. 5. Most of all are the results. I get better results and I think it is because of all the other things. It puts me in a position of trust and I have a great relationship with you and your office. Quite frankly that was the best compliment I ever received but it is not only for my office but more of a description of the whole profession. You are not a number, a case, a disease, you are a person whom we want to help. That is the secret of the profession that has allowed us to grow despite the attacks and falsehoods put forth by competition. We have adopted that motto. At the Health Advantage, we do what your doctor won't do. Now if your doctor does those things, you have a great doctor. If they don't, consult with us and you will. By Dennis R. Buckley ©2009
